WE ARE SEEKING...
Everyone! We encourage a high level of diversity in our productions with regard to ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender (whether binary, non-binary or fluid), age, etc. We do not discriminate for any reason except talent! We also feel it is important to cast specifically ethnic roles as close to the author's intended ethnicity as possible, assuming actors who are capable and are the appropriate ethnicity come to our auditions.

COMPENSATION
There will be a performance stipend for both productions. Stipends will consist of a small base for each performance plus a percentage of the performer's pool which is based on ticket sales. More information about how this is determined and what can be expected will be provided at the audition.

UNION AFFILIATION
Non-AEA only, please!
If you are AEA and would like to discuss participation via a waiver, please email us with your inquiry at auditions (at) landmarkmusicals (dot) com. We will be happy to discuss the situation with you and AEA but you should understand in advance that waiver negotiations may not be successful for these productions (given the length of run, the budget and other considerations).

AUDITION BLOCKS
There are ten hour-long blocks for open auditions scheduled across two days, Saturday, September 15, and Sunday, September 16. You may select one preferred block and one alternate block. You will be assigned your preferred block unless there is no room left at the time of your selection in which case you will be assigned your alternate block.

You must be present for the entire block for which you are scheduled in order to accommodate singing, acting and dance auditions. Please be on time for the beginning of your block! It will be very difficult to accommodate you if you are a late arrival.

AUDITION PREPARATION
IMPORTANT: All roles in both shows require singing, dancing and acting although some roles require more skills than others. Everyone must participate in all aspects of the auditions. EXCEPTION: Anyone who is not interested in a role in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE may skip the tap dance part of the audition.
Singing: Please prepare a song or part of a song or parts of two songs with sheet music prepared in your key, no more than two minutes in total length. An accompanist will be provided (no a capella, CD, MP3 or other track-like accompaniments are permitted). It is recommemnded that you avoid songs from either show, but similar songs in the style of songs from either or both shows are definitely encouraged.
Acting: You will have a choice of spoken audition selections taken from both shows. For EVITA, which is sung-through, we will take excepts of some of the recititive numbers and use them without music. Each selection will be approximately 1 minute in length. Selections will be posted here by September 8 for you to review. You may only use one selection for audition.
Dancing: Please come prepared to move for the dance audition (wear or bring clothes you can dance in - you will be able to change on the premises). There will be a short general dance audition followed by a short tap dance audition (tap shoes encouraged but optional). You must participate in both dance auditions if you are seeking a role in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. The tap dance audition can be skipped by those only interested in EVITA.

AUDITION CONFLICTS
Conflict with callbacks: If you are unable to make EVITA callbacks, please schedule yourself and come to auditions anyway (if you can). Make sure you indicate your conflict(s) on the registration form box asking about callbacks conflicts and we will contact you if we need more information. Callbacks are not yet set for THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. Please audition and we will let you know at the general auditions what the callback date is and you can let us know if you have a conflict at that time.
Conflict with general auditions: If you are unable to make either day of the general auditions, please email us at auditions (at) landmarkmusicals (dot) com with your resume and headshot and an explanation of the conflict and we will try to accommodate you if possible. Landmark tries hard to accommodate actors with conflicts as we all have been in that position ourselves! We apologize if circumstance makes it impossible to help in your specific situation.
