Landmark Musical Theatre Health and Safety Policies
We are finally returning "from the brink" of the 2020-21 Covid-19 pandemic which has shuttered theatres across the country for over a year. We are all very excited about being able to return to the stage but our concern for the safety of both our actors and our audience members remains paramount. We are going to err on the side of caution in our requirements for participation in both the cast and our patrons. As a result, some people will not be eligible to either audition for this production or attend a performance. We apologize if you are unable to participate, but these restrictions are mandated by the need for the utmost in health safety.
AUDIENCE REQUIREMENTS
In order to attend any of our upcoming shows, please make sure that you understand the following requirements and expectations:
- All attendees must be two weeks (14 days) past their final Covid-19 vaccination (2nd dosage for Pfizer or Moderna, 1st for Johnson and Johnson), or must be able to present a recent (within 24-hours) rapid antigen test that is negative.
- Vaccinated individuals should also have booster vaccinations in accordance with CDC guidelines based on age, residence, health status, etc.
- Proof of vaccination or a negative test may be required (either a verifiable letter from your health provider or a standard vaccination card or digital reference issued to most people receiving vaccines) before entering the theatre.
- Masks do not need to be worn in the lobby as that part of the building operates under normal San Francisco health mandates (Landmark has no jurisdiction over the public lobby area).
- Masks must be worn within the theatre except when actively eating or drinking at which time masks are optional.
- We request that all attendees practice social distancing to the fullest extent possible while waiting outside the theatre.
These requirements are consistent (and in some cases, more stringent) than those required by the current San Francisco Public Health orders and orders of other relevant departments of health. Until we have more experience as a society with the impact of lowered precautions, we are choosing to err on the side of safety. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
CAST AND STAFF REQUIREMENTS
In order to participate in any of our upcoming shows, please make sure that you understand the following requirements and expectations:
- At your first day of participation, everyone must be two weeks (14 days) past their final Covid-19 vaccination (2nd dosage for Pfizer or Moderna, 1st for Johnson and Johnson).
- Everyone should also have booster vaccinations in accordance with CDC guidelines based on age, residence, health status, etc.
- Proof of vaccination and booster status is required (either a verifiable letter from your health provider or a standard vaccination card or digital reference issued to most people receiving vaccines) at the date and time of your initial participation.
- Current negative tests are generally NOT a substitute for vaccination. If there is an actual health reason that prevents you from being vaccinated, you must provide us with a letter from a licensed health care provider attesting to that fact, coupled with a current negative antigen or PCR test. In addition, testing will be required weekly at your own expense in order to remain qualified to attend rehearsals and/or performances.
- Masks must be worn properly (covering both nose and mouth) at all times while inside the theater EXCEPT when singing, delivering lines, answering the director's questions, or if specifically asked to temporarily remove the mask by a director (for instance, to take a photograph).
- Note that the mask requirement specifically INCLUDES dancing, unless otherwise requested by a director. If you feel that wearing a mask while dancing may be difficult for you or if you have a phsyician's statement exempting you from masking for health reasons, please notify a director and we will consider a possible exception, but please understand if we are unable to grant it, as our primary requirement is to protect the health of all participants.
- We request that all staff and performers practice social distancing to the fullest extent possible while waiting to audition, perform or otherwise work for Landmark. We understand that this will not always be possible but please make every effort to do so.
These requirements are consistent (and in some cases, more stringent) than those required by the current San Francisco Public Health orders and orders of other relevant departments of health. Singing auditions, dialogue auditions and dancing are three of the most risky activities (especially singing) for spreading Covid-19, and so, until we have more experience as a society with the impact of lowered precautions, we are choosing to err on the side of safety. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
